End User License Agreement (EULA)
The terms that license Shelf for use on Apple devices.
Last updated:
App Store notice: Unless a custom license is presented with your download, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application EULA applies to Shelf. This page states the Shelf-specific terms that accompany that license; it does not replace Apple’s agreement.
1. License grant
Subject to the Apple Standard EULA, these terms, and your compliance with them, Raghav Jhawar grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Shelf on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, for your personal or internal development use. The App Store, Apple’s Usage Rules, and any applicable custom license also apply.
2. Ownership and your content
Shelf, its name, design, code, and documentation are owned by Raghav Jhawar or its licensors. You keep your rights in the code and other content you save. Saving content does not transfer ownership to Shelf. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions to save, use, export, and share it, and for complying with third-party licenses.
Do not use Shelf to infringe rights, violate law, bypass security, distribute malware, or misuse another person’s private information. Review code, credentials, licenses, and AI suggestions before you rely on or share them. Shelf does not execute saved snippets.
3. iCloud, keyboard, and external services
Shelf works locally and may synchronize through Apple’s private iCloud database. Shelf does not operate a separate content server or cryptographic zero-knowledge system. The iCloud service, Apple Account, App Store, GitHub, email, hosting, and other destinations are operated under their own terms and privacy practices.
The keyboard requests Full Access so it can use the shared local library and explicit paste control. Shelf’s current design does not send keyboard keystrokes to a Shelf server or maintain a developer keyboard log. iOS permissions, host apps, secure fields, device backups, system logging, and Apple services remain outside this license.
4. Purchases and subscriptions
Apple displays applicable prices, billing periods, offers, and trial eligibility before purchase. Apple processes payment and subscription management. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled under Apple’s displayed terms; manage them in your Apple Account settings. Eligible offers may include a seven-day trial. Refund requests are handled by Apple. Deleting the app or library does not cancel a subscription.
If Pro ends, existing snippets remain readable, editable, copyable, exportable, and available in the keyboard. Free limits apply to new saves and Pro-only feature activation. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
5. Privacy and data
The privacy policy explains how Shelf handles local data, iCloud synchronization, keyboard access, exports, support, and this website. It is accurate only while the implementation and service configuration match it. You must update the policy, App Store privacy answers, and this EULA before adding analytics, remote AI, advertising, account services, new exports, or other data flows.
6. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shelf and its website are provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, compatibility with every host app, complete secret detection, correct AI suggestions, loss-free synchronization, permanent availability of Apple or third-party services, or recovery of deleted or exported content. You should keep backups of important code.
Nothing in this EULA excludes warranties, remedies, liability, or consumer protections that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Raghav Jhawar and its licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or business interruption arising from or related to Shelf, its website, or third-party services. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the direct damages required by applicable law and the amount you paid for Shelf or the relevant Pro subscription during the twelve months before the event, subject to mandatory law.
8. Your responsibility for claims
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend and indemnify Raghav Jhawar and its licensors from claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of Shelf, your saved or shared content, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of another person’s rights. This does not require you to indemnify us for our own fraud, willful misconduct, or liability that law does not permit us to shift.
9. Termination
Your license ends automatically if you materially breach this EULA or the Apple Standard EULA. You may stop using Shelf at any time and delete it. Terms that by their nature should survive termination, including ownership, content responsibility, disclaimers, limits of liability, indemnity, and dispute provisions, survive.
10. Disputes and changes
Mandatory consumer protections and non-waivable rights apply. Any remaining dispute will be handled by a court with jurisdiction under applicable law. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be narrowed to the minimum extent needed and the remainder will continue. We may update this EULA when Shelf or the law changes; the updated date on this page identifies the current version.
11. Contact
